Service Before the Title

My commitment to community service began long before running for City Council. Through my own outreach nonprofit and years of volunteer work, I have focused on serving people where they are and meeting real community needs right here in Moreno Valley.

My service has included supporting single mothers with summer supplies,

feeding individuals experiencing homelessness and veterans, volunteering with the Salvation Army and local churches, participating in street outreach, and working with the Moreno Valley Public Library on youth activities.

Community service has always been a family value. Right here in Moreno Valley, my children and I spent time serving at our local senior center, creating drawings and spending time with seniors, including those who did not regularly have children or grandchildren visiting them. When my children were younger, they also created Veterans Day drawings and thank-you cards for local veterans and participated alongside me in other acts of service.

Today, that same commitment continues through civic advocacy: showing up, speaking up, standing with residents, following city decisions, and advocating for accountability and transparency.

The photos below represent different chapters of that journey from community outreach and volunteer service to the civic advocacy I continue today.

My service didn’t begin with an appointment, and it didn’t begin with a campaign.
